I'm
writing regarding the upcoming proposed legislation (S120 and similar bills) to
restore funding to benefit "women's health care"
by appropriating $7.4
million for grants to the Department of Health for centers that provide Family
Planning Services.
Although
this bill states that funds may not be used for abortion services, it is widely
publicized that Planned Parenthood will be the primary beneficiary of this
lucrative drain on us taxpayers. I
question the integrity of Planned Parenthood and I am concerned about their
track record of dishonest practices as well as their ethical and legal
violations... some of which are outlined in the report from the House Select
Investigative Panel on Infant Lives. https://archives-energycommerce.house.gov/sites/republicans.energycommerce.house.gov/files/documents/Select_Investigative_Panel_Final_Report.pdf
Among
areas of concern are that abortion providers were using techniques that resulted
in infants born alive during abortion. They wrote that, according to
documents obtained in their investigation, many researchers want tissue from
late-gestation infants "untainted by feticidal agents."
They concluded in
their report that "abortion providers may modify abortion procedures, in
apparent violation of the law, to increase the odds of getting an intact infant
cadaver. Clearly, these factors increase the likelihood that unborn infants are
born alive during late second-trimester abortions, and raise the question
whether these infants' civil rights are recognized by abortion providers."
This
Final Report mentioned above also includes a report of HIPAA violations and lack
of informed consent.
In
addition, a government audit found that they fraudulently billed Medicaid for
millions of dollars in services that did not qualify as family planning.
In
December 2017, it was announced that the Justice Department is going to
investigate Planned Parenthood's illegal activities.
NJ
residents have been receiving quality women's healthcare services through
Federally Qualified Health Centers. They provide more health care services than
Planned Parenthood. The only thing they do not do is abortions. The taxpayer
dollars that used to go to Planned Parenthood now fund these health centers in New Jersey, ensuring that women have access to quality care.
Not to
mention that Planned Parenthood, a supposedly non-profit organization, has $1.6
BILLION IN ASSETS. Their main source
of income comes from providing abortions and I'm guessing their biggest
expense is propaganda and supporting political candidates who support them.
Do the math... Governor Phil Murphy supports Planned Parenthood and
received donations from their
PAC.
And now he's intent on repaying
the favor.
Therefore,
I urge you to vote NO on a bill that will keep Planned Parenthood in business
and render more harm than good to Women's Health. I urge you to table this
issue or rewrite it to protect women from an entity whose legal, moral and
ethical activities are coming to light and are now under investigation.
I urge
you not to take the partisan view, blindly accepting this issue, but to look
into your heart and evaluate how you can truly do something good that will
benefit women in need.
I await
your response.
